District 9 Panel Discussion on Inclusivity (Aug 2018)

What is “inclusivity” in an AA context? Why is it so important to us? What are the practices that really make us feel welcome and included in AA?

This panel discussion was moderated by Judith G. and hosted by the GSRs of Oregon Area 58, District 9, on August 12, 2018, in the Southeast Room of Portland’s NW Alano Club. Panelists included a member of Portland’s Deaf Access Committee, a deaf AA member (accompanied by a skilled interpreter), and several representatives of groups that are highly regarded in the Portland area for grappling successfully with inclusivity challenges. Listen to their experience, strength, and hope in carrying the AA message and in extending a broader, warmer welcome to alcoholics who sometimes feel that we do not have a place for them.
